I have chosen to quit smoking for my 30-day challenge. I accidentally started before I was supposed to so I'm ahead of the curve already I guess. My plan initially started with taking one cigarette out a day or smoking one less than I did the day before. I didn't think I cold just throw it away, I was right. Now, some people can quit cold turkey, some can't. A study in Nicotine and Tobacco Research said that they interviewed 8,000 people who smoked and among those people 68.5% of those people quit and 22% of those 68.5% did it with the cold turkey method. http://www.healthcommunities.com/quit-smoking/quit-smoking-cold-turkey_bht.shtml. Not the greatest numbers for a confidence boost but maybe my own plan will be more optimistic.
